The Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) investigate 724 criminal proceedings; 158 persons were given notices of suspicion of committing crimes (as of March 31, 2019).
In March, 9 persons were given notices of suspicion of allegedly participation in corruption scheme of the misappropriation of especially valuable land plots in the Kyiv-Svyatoshinsky District in Kyiv Region. Among the suspects, there are officials of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, State Agency of Land Resources of Ukraine and an employee of Security Service of Ukraine.
Within another criminal proceeding the NABU Detectives suspect five persons in the embezzlement of 2.225 million USD (55.5 million UAH) at the State Enterprise (SE) "SpetsTechnoExport". Among them, there are acting Head of the SE and a number of former officials of the same SE.
Odesa City Mayor (who is also accused of involvement in the so-called "Krayan Plant Case") was given a notice of suspicion of submitting false data to e-declarations of 2015 and 2016.
In addition, notices of suspicion were given to judges from Odesa and Zakarpattia. Both of them exposed on receiving an improper advantage.
The pre-trial investigations as of a number of resonance criminal proceedings has been completed. In particular, the proceeding as of the following facts:
- causing 13 million UAH losses to the SE “Konotop Aircraft Repair Plant “Aviakon” (Part 2 Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine);
- misappropriation of six land plots in Kyiv (the total value exceeds 2.5 million UAH) by Deputy of the Kyiv City Council, also known as the Secretary of the Kyiv City Council of Land Resources (Part 5 Article 191, Part 3 and Part 4 Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine);
- receiving of 50 thousand USD of improper advantage by three employees of the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv (Part 4 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Currently, the suspects and the defence are granted with access to the materials of the criminal proceedings for review. After that, the indictments will be sent to court.
