The NABU detectives participated in the 6th International anti-corruption conference

The NABU detectives participated in the 6th International anti-corruption conference that took place in Poland last week. The main goal of the conference was collective discussion on integrating anti-corruption actions by different bodies and agencies for the sake of strengthening international cooperation in the sphere of preventing and combating corruption.

The NABU detectives entered first three proceedings into the Unified Register

On 4 December the NABU detectives entered first criminal proceedings into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations. The proceedings concern the theft of state owned companies’ funds to the value of about 1 billion UAH. This was reported by the NABU Director Artem Sytnyk at the briefing. 
According to him the detectives would have entered more proceedings into the Register if it wasn't for insufficient number of prosecutors who could handle the criminal cases.

A. Sytnyk: The newly appointed Anti-Corruption Prosecutor has to justify the society's trust

The National Anti-corruption Bureau's director Artem Sytnyk welcomes the appointment of the Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
“This was a lengthy and long-awaited process. Thanks to the good work of the competition committee Ukraine now has its Anti-Corruption Prosecutor. Now it is important to find suitable candidates for other administrative posts in the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, whose appointments will ensure effective work of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor,” - he added.

The National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine joined EPAC

This year the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine also joined EPAC – European Partners against Corruption, a network of European anti-corruption organisations. This was announced by the NABU Director Artem Sytnyk after his participation in the 15th EPAC/EACN Annual Professional Conference in Paris on 18-20 November.

Marking United Nations International Anti-Corruption Day: Ukraine, a priority

The United Nations General Assembly designated 9 December as International Anti-Corruption Day, when it adopted the UN Convention against Corruption in October 2003. The aim is to raise awareness of corruption and its impact on society, and to mobilize governments to tackle this threat to economic development, democracy and stability. 
NATO is playing its part to reduce the risk of corruption in the defence establishments of Allies and partners through the Building Integrity Program.
