Due to the support of the United Kingdom, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine analysts had the opportunity to gain experience from top experts in financial intelligence, anti-corruption and money laundering, Director of the Bureau Artem Sytnyk said.
"Ukraine has no comparison in law enforcement to the structure of the analysts department formed at NABU. We had a research of work methods in similar units of the British law enforcement, thus due to the support of British experts we have created an analytical department which uses the most modern methods of investigation and analysis"- added Mr. Sytnyk.
Director of the Bureau reported that the analysts’ team completed the training courses and started working with open and closed databases.
"They are developing analytical materials on those criminal proceedings conducted by detectives, and collect information that may be useful for a new investigations" - specified A. Sytnyk.
He noted that the training program was developed by experts of AML Consulting company specialized in training of government specialists around the world in the field of anti-corruption, financial intelligence to combat money laundering and returning of assets derived from crime.
The trainings were conducted in English without translation, and this again proves the high professional level of the staff of the Bureau" - added A.Sytnyk.
NABU Director thanked the British partners during a visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Ukraine Judith Gough for regular support for the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
"Counterparts from Britain are our reliable partners in the development of the Bureau. They were with us and supported us from the start ", - said A.Sytnyk.
According to him, due to help of the British partners the roadmap of NABU was designed, communication strategy, corporate identity, brand book and a website were created.
"Moreover the British experts helped us to develop the training courses for NABU detectives and analysts. Taking into account the fact that now we are recruiting new detectives, I hope to continue this cooperation in the next year ", - said A.Sytnyk, adding that the joint British-Ukrainian project of Bureau IT-Architecture creation now is on the implementation stage.
"This support is a clear sign of the certain advance trust for us. I promise that we justify it with our work ", - stressed the Bureau director.
