E-declarations: the second indictment as of Odesa City Mayor was sent to court

On August 5, 2020, an indictment as of the facts of Odesa City Mayor submitting false data in e-declaration was sent to court. The abovementioned official is accused of committing a crime under Article 366-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: the investigation revealed that Odesa City Mayor did not submit data in the declaration of 2017.

The investigation revealed that Odesa City Mayor did not submit in the declaration data on the property and income owned by his cohabitant. The suspect was officially married with her since 1985 until 1997, has two children in common, one of whom was born in 2000, that is after the official divorce.

The Odesa City Mayor undeclared an apartment, two parking lots, a boathouse, a country house, non-residential real estate, two cars, shares in a number of business entities, interest on deposits in banks.  In total, in the declaration of 2017, the official did not submit a worth in the total amount of UAH 16.3 million. The size of undeclared worth is determined based on examinations conducted as a part of pre-trial investigation.

For reference: this is the second episode as of the facts of Odesa City Mayor submitting false data in e-declaration. In June 2019, the case as of the facts of submitting false data in e-declaration of for 2015 and 2016 was sent to court.

The NABU Detectives started a pre-trial investigation as of those facts in March 2019.

According to Part 1 Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine a person is considered not-guilty in commission of a crime and cannot be a subject to criminal punishment, until he or she is found guilty by the court.
