Starting February, an FBI representative will be present at the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine. He will work together with the Bureau's detectives on international assignments and control how they are dealt with by the competent US authorities. Artem Sytnyk reported this during the Hromadske Radio broadcast.
According to him, this month the FBI representatives would visit the National Bureau in order to assist the detectives in tracing monetary flows.
“Our work has taught us that that in many cases monetary flows have connection to foreign financial institutions. Therefore we will be asking our partners among the law enforcement agencies of other countries for international legal assistance. However this can influence the speed of investigations,” - pointed out Artem Sytnyk.
The Director also spoke about the planned visits of the NABU detectives to partner states with the purpose of international legal assistance and information exchange.
It should be reminded that Artem Sytnyk's recent visit to Washington D.C. resulted in an agreement to sign the Memorandum of Cooperation between the NABU and the FBI.
