Investigation as of the judge from Mariupol completed

The pre-trial investigation as of the judge of one of the District Courts of Mariupol and his assistant, exposed in December 2018 on bribe, completed. On July 3, 2019, the Prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) sent the indictment to Berdyansk City Court of Zaporizhzhia Region.

The Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) found out that the judge jointly with an assistant demanded and received an improper advantage for a decision-making in the administrative case. The transferred funds were divided into two parts. Immediately after the transfer of the second part of the improper advantage the judge was exposed.

On December 7, 2018, the judge and his assistant were given notices of the suspicion of committing a crime under Part 3 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The investigation of the abovementioned facts was started by the NABU Detectives in November 2018 and completed in April 2019.

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine a person is considered not-guilty in commission of crime and cannot be a subject to criminal punishment, until he or she is found guilty by the court.
