Judge of one of the District Courts of Mariupol was exposed on receiving an improper advantage

On December 6, 2018, the Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) together with the officers of the Security Service of Ukraine, under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office exposed a judge of one of the District Courts of Mariupol and his assistant. These persons exposed immediately after receiving a part of improper advantage.

The abovementioned judge and his assistant asked and received the improper advantage for a decision-making in the administrative case. The transferred funds were divided into two parts. Immediately after the transfer of the second part of the improper advantage the judge was exposed.

Currently, the NABU is preparing notices of suspicion to the suspects for allegedly committing a crime under Part 3 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation of the abovementioned facts the NABU Detectives have started in November 2018.

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine a person is considered not-guilty in commission of crime and cannot be a subject to criminal punishment, until he or she is found guilty by the court.
