NABU detains ex-deputy director of Electrotyazhmash for causing over 37 mln UAH damage to the country

On November 8, 2016, Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) under the procedural guidance of the Anti-corruption prosecutors detained the former deputy director general for strategy and marketing of state-run enterprise Electrotyazhmash. 
He is suspected of committing a crime under Part 2 Article 28 and Part 2 Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Criminal offense committed by a group of persons and abuse of authority or office caused any grave consequences). The abovementioned was detained in Kharkiv. The court is to choose a preventive measure.
Another person (the head of two business enterprises also involved in the embezzlement scheme) was given a notice of suspicion for allegedly committing a crime under Part 5 Article 27, Part 2 Article 28 and Part 2 Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. His location is being established now. 
During pre-trial investigation the NABU Detectives exposed a corruption scheme under which in years 2014-2015 officials of SE Plant Electrotyazhmash in collusion with heads of two fake companies sold a DC engine at the production cost (USD 1, 390, 000). Later it was resold to Kazakhstan for more than 3 million USD. 
As a result, State Enterprise Plant suffered losses of 37.2 million UAH, which caused a substantial public property damage
The pre-trial investigation is in progress, other possible companions in the crime are being established.
