On July 15, 2019, the Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office (SAPO) gave a notice of suspicion to the Head of the Unit in Lviv Region (falls within the scope of management of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine).
The suspect holds the position of the Head of the Building Management Department number 1 of the Yavoriv District. He is suspected of causing 1.18 million UAH damage to the State. His actions are qualified under Part 2 Article 364 (Abuse of office) and Part 1 Article 366 (Forgery in office) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigation revealed that during April-October 2014, the suspect drafted and issued fake acts of acceptance of services for the rental of gas boilers from a private enterprise. In fact, such services were not provided at all. These acts became a basis for illegal transfer of 1.18 million UAH to private enterprise. The investigation also revealed that this amount corresponds with the amount of damage caused to the State.
Pre-trial investigation as of the abovementioned facts is carried out from September 2018 by the NABU Detectives.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine a person is considered not-guilty in commission of crime and cannot be a subject to criminal punishment, until he or she is found guilty by the court.
