The effective investigation of over 190 cases, which the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (PGO) investigated until November 2019, became the challenge for NABU.

NABU needs the assistance of the law enforcement agencies that launched the investigation. The reasons are that the number of materials is over 22 thousand volumes, half of them are investigation files on the economic part of the  "Maidan cases" and staff of the NABU Detectives is limited. That is stated in the NABU Report: July - December 2019.

At the beginning of the NABU work, it was expected that the PGO would complete the investigation as of the former government actions (by 2015). Otherwise, Detectives would have to focus on on abovementioned crimes, not having an opportunity to investigate the corruption of current officials..

In five years, these cases were not sent to court, but were referred to NABU. Currently 240 Detectives got a task to investigate the PGO cases, assess the base of previously collected evidence and continue the investigation.
