NABU will strengthen cooperation with the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Lithuania

On December 13, 2016, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) with the Specialized Investigation Service of the Republic of Lithuania (STT) signed a cooperation agreement on mutual investigation of corruption offenses, conduction of joint operational-search activities and mutual actions on corruption prevention. The corresponding Memorandum was signed by the NABU Director Artem Sytnyk and the Head of the Specialized Investigation Service of the Republic of Lithuania Saulius Urbanavičius.

The document envisages information exchange on corruption offenses and sociological and scientific research, exchange of methodological and legal materials. Also the Memorandum envisages organization of joint trainings, workshops, seminars and meetings.

Previously the NABU Director Artem Sytnyk mentioned that the Bureau effectively cooperates with Lithuanian law enforcement agencies. The latter freely provide required information under the international legal orders. The intention to consolidate cooperation at the official level was stated by the NABU Director and the Head of STT at the open discussion "The NABU’s activities in the context of Anti-corruption reform" that took place on November 5, 2016, in Kyiv.
