The law “On the 2016 State Budget of Ukraine” allocated 486,6 million UAH for the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine operation, including 114 million for capital expenses. According to the NABU Director Artem Sytnyk, if it wasn't for the support of the International Monetary Fund, the amounts would have been smaller.
“These funds will be used for purchasing vehicles, special equipment, computers, service and network equipment – all that will ensure the NABU's effective performance,” - explained the Bureau's Director during the Hromadske Radio broadcast. However, according to Mr Sytnyk, the lion's share of the allocated budget will provide for salaries of the Bureau's employees.
“The Law “On the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine” provides for decent wages, first and foremost – for detectives. This approach lowers corruption risks significantly. It's also a good thing that neither President, nor Government or Parliament can influence the wages,” - pointed out Artem Sytnyk.
As reported earlier, the total number of competition winners for vacancies in the NABU amounts to 320, 230 of which have already been appointed for positions. The rest will be appointed after verification.
