The total amount of damage caused to the State by corruption in the transportation industry investigated by the Detectives exceeds 1.5 billion UAH. The property and funds in the amount of more than 200 million UAH were seized in order to compensate the damage. Most corruption offenses related to the procurement of goods and services at unreasonable high price and misappropriation of the state property.

In some cases foreign companies are involved. The NABU Detectives sent requests for international legal assistance to the competent authorities of seven states during 2016-2017.

In order to eliminate the corruption schemes in transportation industry, the NABU filed a claim on the invalidation of agreements of the State Enterprise Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) with the third parties for more than 860 million UAH.
