Support of international partners is very important for the NABU - Artem Sytnyk

Thanks to the work of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau for the first time in Ukraine more than 100, 000, 000 UAH have already been returned to the state enterprise's accounts. This was underlined by the NABU Director Artem Sytnyk at the meeting with the diplomatic corps.

According to him, today 200 NABU Detectives are investigating more than 215 criminal proceedings and 36 cases are already in court. However, the judges do not hurry to pass sentences.

NABU has finished pre-trial investigation of Odesa Port Plant case

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine finished the pre-trial investigation as of the First Deputy Chairman of Naftogaz of Ukraine and the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Odesa Port Plant. The abovementioned persons are suspected of allegedly committing a crime under Part 5 Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Misappropriation, embezzlement or conversion of property by abuse of official post committed in respect of an especially gross amount).

Military Prosecutor was indicted. The decision is to be made by court

On October 21, 2016 the Anti-Corruption Prosecutors jointly with the Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine handed down the indictment to the  Military Prosecutor of Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) forces. He is suspected of committing a criminal offense under the Part 2 of the Article 368-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Illegal enrichment").

Verification results of MP Svitlana Zalishchuk’s funds, spent for apartment purchase

The Information Processing and Analysis Department of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine in response to the allegation by a MP Svitlana Zalishchuk started an information analysis on the legitimacy of funds that she had spent on buying an apartment.
 
Thus, according to the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, the income of a MP Svitlana Zalishchuk in 2011-2014 amounted to 922, 848 UAH.

NABU will strengthen cooperation with Europol and Eurojust

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine plans to work more actively with the  European Union's Judicial Cooperation Unit (Eurojust) and the European Police Office (Europol). This was discussed on September 27-28 in Hague (Netherlands) during the meetings  between the NABU Director Artem Sytnyk and the Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office Nazar Kholodnitskiy and the heads of  abovementioned organizations.

NABU detained the director of LLC "Zaporizhye Titanium and Magnesium Combine"

On September 23, 2016 the detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of the Anti-corruption prosecutors and in cooperation with the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in Zaporizhia Region detained the director of LLC "Zaporizhye Titanium and Magnesium Combine" (ZTMC).
 
The detention is a part of investigation initiated by the NABU detectives in June 2016 on the fact of abuse of official post by ZTMC officials that led to a large-scale embezzlement of funds.

NABU detained a GPO official for abuse of office

On Thursday, September 22, 2016 the detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine detained the chief investigator for high-profile cases of the Department of investigation of high-profile economic cases of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine (GPO) on suspicion of property conversion by abuse of official post (Article 191 Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The corresponding investigation was started on September 1, 2016 by the NABU detectives under the procedural guidance of the Anti-corruption prosecutors.

The European partners will continue to provide the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine with political and organizational support. In particular, the European Union will foster the elimination of legislative barriers, which might hinder the fight with corruption in Ukraine.
