MP suspected of non-declaration of property worth UAH 4.3 million

On Feb. 17, 2023, NABU and SAPO notified an incumbent MP of suspicion of misstatements in her e-declaration for 2020. The actions of the lawmaker fall under Part 1 Art. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (as amended by Law of Ukraine No. 1074-Х of 04.12.2020). As the MP's whereabouts are unknown, she was notified of suspicion under Art. 278, Art. 135 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

We must rebuild Ukraine and continue to eradicate corruption - Gizo Uglava

Strengthening the interdepartmental and international cooperation between the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the European Investment Bank is particularly important at the moment since large financing is coming to Ukraine to support it during the war. This was noted by Gizo Uglava during a meeting with representatives of the European Investment Bank on Feb. 15, 2023.

Ten new suspects in "Ukrgasbank" case

NABU and SAPO have announced new suspicions in the case of Ukrgasbank, which lost UAH 206 million during 2014-2020 due to the actions of an organized group led by the bank's board chair. On Feb. 14, 2023, ten more persons were served with charges. The actions of nine of them fall under Part 5 Art. 27 Part 5 Art. 191 and Part 5 Art. 27, Part 3 Art. 28 Part 1 Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, one of them - under Part 5 Art. 27, Part 3 Art. 28 Part 1 Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Five persons were notified of suspicion in absentia.

UAH 1,9 bn - NABU, SAPO's economic effect in the second half of 2022

Searching for financial resources to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities became a key effort of anti-corruption agencies after russia unleased its full-scale invasion. Aid to the Armed Forces became one of the components of the economic effect of NABU and SAPO's work, which reached almost UAH 1.9 billion in the second half of 2022.

NABU did not stop work for a single minute in 2022 - Gizo Uglava

During the full-scale invasion of the russian federation, NABU not only did not stop its work but also joined the fight against the occupiers. Anti-corruption agencies showed their resilience, and the anti-corruption system works effectively despite objective difficulties. This was noted by acting NABU Director Gizo Uglava during a public discussion "Anti-Corruption During the War. Results of 2022".

Ex-deputy minister suspected of embezzling over UAH 32 million

NABU and SAPO notified Yanukovych era ex-deputy minister of ecology and natural resources and two foreign citizens of suspicion of embezzling UAH 32.048 million during the purchase of earth remote sensing services. The actions of the suspects fall under Part 5 Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Two lawyers caught on attempted bribery of PGO, SFS officials

NABU and SAPO notified two lawyers of suspicion of inciting an entrepreneur to give an undue advantage, as well as aiding in its receipt by officials of the Prosecutor General's Office and the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine. Their actions fall under Part 4 Art. 27, Part 2 Art. 15, Part 4 Art. 369, Part 5 Art. 27, Part 2 Art. 15, Part 4 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Receipt of undue advantage by Kharkiv Regional Council сhair: case sent to court

On Jan. 31, 2023, NABU and SAPO filed an indictment against the chair of the Kharkiv Regional Council*, his deputy*, and an accomplice. They are accused of receiving an undue advantage of UAH 1.05 million. The actions of the officials fall under Part 4 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, of the accomplice – under Part 5 Article 27, Part 4 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
