The National Anti-corruption Bureau's director Artem Sytnyk welcomes the appointment of the Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

“This was a lengthy and long-awaited process. Thanks to the good work of the competition committee Ukraine now has its Anti-Corruption Prosecutor. Now it is important to find suitable candidates for other administrative posts in the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, whose appointments will ensure effective work of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor,” - he added.

A. Sytnyk reminded that the NABU detectives were ready to start investigations on 1 October, but the protracted process of forming competition committee selecting the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor still keeps them from going beyond analytics in their activities.

“The National Bureau was not the only one waiting for this appointment, the public and the international partners were both looking forward to it. The newly appointed Prosecutor has to demonstrate high level of professionalism, honesty and integrity. Success in combating corruption and consequently Ukraine's path to the European Union both depend on our coordinated work,” - emphasised the Bureau's Director.

It should be reminded that the Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin appointed Nazar Kholodnitskiy head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office on 30 November 2015. The competition for 11 more positions is in progress.
