Receipt of undue advantage by Chornomorsk Sea Port head: case sent to court

On July 4, 2022, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) filed an indictment to the High Anti-Corruption Court in respect of the former acting head of SE "Commercial Sea Port "Chornomorsk" and his accomplice charged with receiving an undue advantage of USD 250,000. Actions of the former fall under Part 4 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and the latter - under Part 5 Art. 27, Part 4 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Incitement to bribery and fraud by PGO officials: investigation completed

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) have completed the investigation into incitement to provide an undue advantage to officials of the Prosecutor's General Office and fraud. On June 29, 2022, the case file was disclosed to the defense for review.

MOD's auditor attempted bribery: case sent to court

On June 30, 2022, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office (SAPO) sent an indictment to the High Anti-Corruption Court against the head of a structural division of Ukraine's Defence Ministry. He is charged with requesting UAH 24 million to influence the results of an audit. The actions of the suspect fall under Part 3 Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

NABU helps gather evidence of russia war crimes

On June 28, 2022, Ukraine's law enforcement agencies notified two russian servicemen of suspicion of giving orders to mistreat civilians, violate the laws and customs of war, and commit other crimes. Their actions fall under Part 1 and Part 2 Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They are the commander of the motorized rifle battalion of the 15th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 2nd guards combined arms army of the central military district of russia's armed forces and the assistant commander of a military unit for physical training.

NABU completes investigation into extortion by SSU, NPU officers

NABU and SAPO have completed the investigation of Security Service and National Police officials in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. On June 29, 2022, the case file was disclosed to the defense. The actions of the officials fall under part 2 Art. 190, Part 4 Art. 27, Part 2 Art. 15, Part 3 Art. 369, Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Ex-Ukrekoresursy head detained on recycling scheme charges

On June 21, 2022, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office (SAPO) detained the former director of Ukrekoresursy SE (deals with recycling) suspected of embezzling UAH 13.69 million. The investigation has evidence that the former official, along with representatives of private structures, organized a scheme for the purchase of reverse-vending machines of inadequate quality. They are all facing charges, their actions falling under Part 5 Art. 191 of the Criminal code of Ukraine.

Ukraine army gets USD 200,000 at the initiative of NABU, SAPO, HACC

On June 20, 2022, at the initiative of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office (SAPO) USD 199.9 thousand was transferred for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This amount was part of a USD 800,000 bribe meant for the head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine. The person who tried to give the bribe was caught red-handed, while the funds were arrested.

On June 17, 2022, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office (SAPO) issued indictments against 11 persons accused of attempts to seize state power and obstruct the work of the High Qualification Commission of Judges, participation in criminal organization and abuse of influence.

NABU completes investigation in Kyiv City Council bribery case

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) have completed an investigation of a current deputy of the Kyiv City Council and other persons exposed taking UAH 1.39 million in undue benefit. On June 17, 2022, the case file was disclosed for review before being referred to court.

NABU adapts to work under war conditions: discussion

A full-scale russian invasion changed the lives of the entire country and affected the work of state institutions. The anti-corruption agencies were ready to face these challenges: they successfully adapted their work to a new reality and continued to fight corruption. After all, effective anti-corruption efforts is what Ukraine is required as a potential candidate for EU membership.
