The investigation as of the facts of illegally received from the state budget cash compensation payments in the amount of UAH 367 thousand for rent by the Member of Parliament (MP) of the VIII convocations was completed. On June 5, 2020, the indictment was sent to court.
The person is accused of committing a crime under Article 366-1 («Submission of false data to e-declaration») and Part 2 Article 364 (Abuse of authority or office) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigation revealed that the ex-MP did not declared the fact on living in an apartment worth UAH 10.9 million and the cost of paying part of its value, purchase of expensive household items and securities in e- declaration for 2016. To the declaration for 2017 he did not submit data on the UAH 5.24 million of income, the purchase of an apartment in the amount of UAH 5.19 million and obtaining ownership of the apartment in Kyiv worth about UAH 10.91 million (the property is listed on a close person).
According to the NABU Detectives, despite the fact that the former MP from the end of 2016 lived in his own apartment in Kyiv, he also received compensation for the allegedly paid cost of renting a room in the “Kyiv” Hotel. In general, for February 2018 - August 2019, these illegal cash payments amounted to more than UAH 367 thousand.
The NABU Detectives started a pre-trial investigation as of abovementioned facts in February 2018 and completed in May 2020.
In December 2019, the MP was given a notice of suspicion.
For reference: this person is accused of committing a crime in the so-called "amber case". Currently the court considers the case.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine a person is considered not-guilty in commission of crime and cannot be a subject to criminal punishment, until he or she is found guilty by the court.
