The NABU Detectives have started pre-trial investigations as of 64 cases in April 2020. 12 persons were given notices of suspicion of committing corruption crimes. The indictments as of 4 persons were sent to court. These are the results of NABU activities as of April 2020.
Over UAH 1.65 mln of the compensation received unreasonably for rental housing or hotel rooms in Kyiv was returned by the Members of Parliament of the VIII convocation after the Detectives of the National Bureau had begun their investigation in October 2018. In addition, a number of the MPs revised their need for compensation and abandoned it. As a result, taking into account the size of the monthly compensation payment, during December 2018 — January 2019, the Office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine saved about UAH 4 mln.
The effective investigation of over 190 cases, which the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (PGO) investigated until November 2019, became the challenge for NABU.
For six months of 2019, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office (SAPO) gave notices of suspicion to 84 persons. Indictments as of 76 people were sent to court. These figures indicate that the second half of 2019 was a period of intensification of NABU and SAPO work. It also indicates the transformation of the achievements of previous years into results.
As of July 31, 2019, the Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) jointly with the prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) prosecuted 502 people for corruption. 133 persons are suspected of committing corruption crimes within 751 criminal proceedings investigated by the NABU. The indictments as of 369 persons sent to court.
Pre-trial investigation of the criminal proceeding as of the facts of causing losses to the State Enterprise (SE) “Konotop Aircraft Repair Plant “Aviakon” (hereinafter – "Aviakon") completed. On July 19, 2019, the prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office sent an indictment as of three persons to Konotopsky City and District Court of Sumy Region.
On July 15, 2019, the Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office (SAPO) gave a notice of suspicion to the Head of the Unit in Lviv Region (falls within the scope of management of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine).
As of June 30, 2019, 135 persons are suspected of committing corruption crimes within 745 criminal proceeding investigated by the Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine jointly with the prosecutors of Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO). The indictments as of 362 persons were sent to court.
Internal Control Department (hereinafter – ICD) of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has completed investigation as of the facts of alleged misdeeds of NABU employees contained in the correspondence aired in TV program BIHUS.INFO. The results of the investigation were communicated to the Disciplinary Commission, which will decide on the occurrence of disciplinary offence in the actions of NABU employees.
On March 7, 2019, three persons suspected of allegedly abuse of office, resulted in 13 million UAH losses caused to the State Enterprise (SE) “Konotop Aircraft Repair Plant “Aviakon” (hereinafter – "Aviakon") were informed on completion of the pre-trial investigation. The defense and the suspects had been granted with access to the materials of the pre-trial investigation.
