On Dec. 6, 2022, NABU and SAPO served suspicion notices on three members of a criminal organization in Odesa, exposed and detained the day before.
On Jan. 28, 2021, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) filed an indictment against the Odesa City Council officials involved in causing a UAH 131 million loss to the local budget.
On Nov. 3, 2021, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) served the former head of the Property Relations Department of the Odesa Regional Council with a suspicion notice. He is charged with abuse of power resulting in UAH 80 million losses to the city. The actions of the suspect fall under Part 2 Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
On Oct. 6, 2021, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), the National Police Internal Security Department, and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) notified 16 persons of suspicion of embezzling the assets of the Odesa territorial community and legalizing illegally obtained income.
On January 24, 2020, the Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office (SAPO) gave notices of suspicion to four persons involved in embezzlement of UAH 92 million from Odesa Сity budget during purchasing of the buildings of the "Holding Company "Krayan" OJSC.
Exposing corruption schemes requires constant interaction between law enforcement and the public. Therefore, effective communication between each other is extremely important. The meeting of representatives of the World Bank and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine with media in Odesa took place on September 27, 2019. The participants discussed the results and perspectives of the implementation of anti-corruption reform, the World Bank’s support in the fight against corruption in Ukraine, as well as the role of media in the combating corruption.
On June 14, 2019, an indictment as of the facts of Odesa City Mayor submitting false data in e-declaration was sent to Prymorsky District Court of Odesa. The abovementioned official is accused of committing a crime under Article 366-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
On August 4, 2017, the Odesa Territorial Office of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) officially started its work. The Office is allocated in Odesa. The main task of the Odesa Territorial Office (as well as the NABU Territorial Offices in Lviv and Kharikiv) is communication with the public and information processing (applications on corruption offenses under NABU`s jurisdiction). Also the Odesa Territorial Office will provide organizational support in investigations to the NABU Detectives in the Southern Regions of Ukraine.
On Friday, April, 1 Solomyansky district court in Kyiv granted the application by the NABU detectives in agreement with the Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor's office and selected holding in custody without bail as preventive measure for the judge O.Buran.
