On Nov. 8, 2023, NABU and SAPO exposed a criminal organization whose members facilitated illegal minimization of customs payments through the schemes of so-called "black" and "gray" imports within the jurisdiction of the Volyn Customs, causing over UAH 475 million in losses to the state.

Ternopil District Council deputy suspected of USD 300,000 extortion

On Nov. 8, 2023, NABU and SAPO, in cooperation with the SSU, announced suspicion against the deputy of the Ternopil District Council, who also serves as deputy head of an amalgamated territorial community in the Ternopil region, and his lawyer. Both are charged with extorting USD 300,000 from an investor.

KCSA deputy head served with charges after illegal construction in Kyiv park area

On Nov. 2, 2023, NABU and SAPO notified the current deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration of suspicion of abusing his official position, which led to the illegal allocation of part of the natural reserve fund (Nyvky Park) for construction. As a result, it caused about UAH 6.4 million in losses to the territorial community.

The continuation of the strong cooperation established earlier was discussed during the first official meeting between NABU's Director Semen Kryvonos and the newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine H.E. Mr. Martin Jaeger. The parties discussed the latest legislative initiatives, in particular those related to the so-called "Lozovyi Amendments," as well as attempts to put pressure on the NABU's independence.
