On Oct. 3, 2023, NABU and SAPO notified the Mayor of Sumy and the head of the City Infrastructure Department of suspicion of accepting a UAH 2.13 million in bribe. On Oct. 2, 2023, they were caught right after receiving the final installment of UAH 1.4 million.
The former deputy head of the State Tax Service in Kyiv, who was convicted by the High Anti-Corruption Court in a case involving attempted bribery of NABU and SAPO executives, has agreed, as part of a plea agreement with a SAPO prosecutor, to transfer UAH 50 million for the needs of the Armed Forces.
On Sept. 30, 2023, NABU and SAPO served suspicion notice on the acting head of the Kominternivskyi district court of the Odesa region. He had been caught red-handed the day before after receiving UAH 50,000 (USD 1,300) in bribe. His actions fall under Part 3 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
On Sept. 27, 2023, NABU and SAPO, with the operational support of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Ivano-Frankivsk region of the National Police, notified two persons of suspicion of embezzling over UAH 10 million allocated for the construction of an educational complex in the village of Chukalivka, the Ivano-Frankivsk region, as part of the Big Construction state program.
