NABU, SAPO expose UAH 967 mln oil products scheme, top official among suspects

On Jan. 25, 2024, NABU and SAPO, in cooperation with the SSU, exposed six members of an organized criminal group, who seized property of PJSC "Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company" worth over UAH 80 million.
The fight against corruption directly impacts national security, underscoring the critical importance of the work carried out by anti-corruption bodies, both during times of war and in the post-war restoration of Ukraine. This point was emphasized by the United Kingdom Ambassador to Ukraine, Martin Harris, during a meeting with the leadership of NABU and SAPO on 25 January 2024.
Last year, over 250 NABU detectives and analysts successfully completed a nine-month training "CryptoEdge: Cryptocurrency technologies and methods of investigating crimes using virtual assets". Based on its results, 15 detectives were selected to continue training at a more in-depth and intensive level, which lasted from October to January.
The keen interest in Ukraine's progress in combating corruption and all-encompassing support for anti-corruption initiatives in the context of the country's restoration brought together over 40 distinguished guests who visited the National Bureau on Jan. 12, 2024.
