On Sept. 12, 2023, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) uncovered a conspiracy involving a deputy of the Poltava Regional Council and two accomplices aimed at misappropriating UAH 100,000. These funds were intended for use as financial support to citizens in need of medical treatment.
A meeting with the NABU, SAPO's leadership, and the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, took place at the National Bureau. The meeting was also attended by the head of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative and the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Action Center's board.
On Sept. 7, 2023, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) served suspicion papers against the former ultimate beneficial owner of PJSC CB "PrivatBank" and five members of the organized group for the alleged misappropriation of over UAH 9.2 billion from the bank.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are deepening their cooperation in investigating corrupt crimes, combating money laundering, and asset recovery. The respective intentions are outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding between NABU and the FBI, signed on Aug. 31, 2023.
On 31 August 2023, NABU and SAPO served charges on the former director of the State Enterprise "Research Farm "Proskurivka" of the VM Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and the director of a private enterprise of misappropriation of agricultural products of the state enterprise worth over UAH 22.9 million.
