"Energomerezha" case: indictment sent to court

Decisions of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine aimed at decriminalizing the articles on e-declaration and illicit enrichment dealt a serious blow to anti-corruption reform, but failed to stop it. This was stated by NABU Director Artem Sytnyk at the Discussion "Constitutional crisis in Ukraine: a year later" attended, inter alia, by the leadership of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, and the High Anti-Corruption Court on Oct. 27, 2021.
On Oct. 26, 2021, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) issued an indictment against the acting head of one of the territorial departments of the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre (StateGeoCadastre) and an intermediary. Their actions fall under Part 4 Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
NABU and SAPO have completed an investigation of the former acting director of a state enterprise and the Head of the Main Department of the State Geocadastre in Vinnytsia region. Both are charged with stealing 17.11 hectares of especially valuable land, which caused UAH 11.6 million in damage to the State. The actions of the suspects fall under Part 5 Art. 191 and Part 1 Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
NABU and SAPO have notified three persons of suspicion of embezzling Ukrzaliznytsia PJSC funds to the amount of UAH 11.8 million.
