Defence Intelligence of Ukraine gets USD 600,000 thanks to NABU, SAPO
On July 21, 2023, NABU detectives, following the instructions of SAPO prosecutors, transferred USD 600,000 for the needs of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. The money was seized in 2016 as part of the investigation into the so-called "gas case". The transfer of funds became possible thanks to the decision of the HACC.
The cash was discovered during a search of the individual bank safe of a representative of an MP (2012-2019) who is suspected of organizing a scheme to embezzle state funds during the sale of natural gas produced as part of joint activities with PJSC "Ukrgazvydobuvannia" (100% of the shares belong to the state-owned Naftogaz of Ukraine). During 2014-2015, the state suffered losses in the amount of more than UAH 740 million as a result of the scheme.

In total, more than UAH 1.7 billion in bail and seized assets in the NABU and SAPO cases have been directed to the Armed Forces of Ukraine since russia's all-out invasion.
