Fighting cross-border corruption: NABU steps up cooperation with UK
Transparent use of international aid, best practices in fighting transborder corruption, and strengthening the institutional capacity of the National Bureau. These were the key topics discussed by NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and SAPO Head Oleksandr Klymenko during their working visit to the United Kingdom.
NABU's Director visited leading British institutions, including the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, Serious Fraud Office, and the Royal United Services Institute.
Semen Kryvonos had a series of meetings focused on experience sharing and strengthening cooperation, particularly in monitoring the use of international aid, identifying and recovering illegally acquired assets from abroad, and expanding training opportunities for the National Bureau's staff with the involvement of British experts.
Additionally, the head of NABU participated in a training session and roundtable discussion focused on the role of civil society, non-governmental organizations, and the media in fighting corruption.
This visit is one of the efforts of the National Bureau's executive team to build its capacity, introduce innovative approaches to fighting corruption, and strengthen cooperation with foreign colleagues. All of this plays an important role in the context of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations, increasing the trust of international partners and shaping the image of Ukraine as a state with zero tolerance for corruption.
