Head of region district court exposed taking undue advantage
NABU and SAPO, together with NPU's Strategic Investigations Department in the Dnipropetrovsk region, exposed the head of a region district court who received an undue advantage of USD 2,500.
According to the investigation, the judge through an intermediary demanded USD 2,500 for making a decision in favor of a citizen - lifting the arrest of property seized during criminal investigation. After receiving the undue advantage, the judge made the decision to lift the seizure.
The suspects' places of residence and work were searched.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered not-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
