NABU, Department of State Office of Inspector General set up cooperation
In order to effectively monitor and investigate possible misuse of funds provided by the U.S. Government to Ukraine for post-war reconstruction, the Office of Inspector General of the U.S. Department of State is setting up cooperation and effective exchange of information with NABU. This was discussed during a meeting between Jason Loeffler, Deputy Assistant Inspector General, and Semen Kryvonos, Director of NABU.
Semen Kryvonos thanked the American law enforcement officers and emphasized the readiness of the Bureau's team for future challenges.
"We understand that Ukraine's reconstruction will once start, and one of the key points for NABU detectives will be the control of the use of funds that will come from other countries, including the USA. I hope for effective cooperation, as NABU has a positive experience of cooperation with colleagues from other American agencies. Our efforts will bring results and allow us to use the funds for the reconstruction of the country as efficiently as possible," said Semen Kryvonos.
The meeting was also attended by representative of the Law Enforcement Division at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine Lori Antolinez, justice officer at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine Jasmine Lopez, Deputy Assistant Inspector General Beverly O'Neil.
The Office of Inspector General of the U.S. Department of State is a special body authorized to monitor the effectiveness of the use of funds provided by the U.S. Government to other countries.
