The upcoming independent audit of the National Bureau and the strengthening of anti-corruption capabilities were discussed during a meeting between NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and IMF representatives.

The talk covered the need to establish an autonomous forensic institution within NABU and implement the Bureau's right for independent wiretapping, which will directly boost the Bureau's efficiency.

Semen Kryvonos and the IMF paid special attention to the urgent necessity of an independent audit of NABU's work, based on the principles of transparency and openness.

The parties also discussed Ukraine's accession to the OECD Anti-Corruption Convention. Semen Kryvonos noted that the Bureau is making efforts to achieve the final result, in particular in the context of amendments to the legislation on liability for corruption of legal entities.
