False asset declaration: case regarding the AMCU Head sent to court
NABU and SAPO sent the case to court regarding the accusation of the current Head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) for failure to declare assets and his wife for complicity in illegal enrichment.
The investigation revealed, the top official failed to declare 20 real estate objects and a luxury car in his electronic declaration for 2024, which were registered to his wife's relatives.
These include:
- 6 apartments in Kyiv and Uzhhorod;
- a residential house near Kyiv with an area exceeding 220 sq. m and 2 land plots;
- 2 garage boxes;
- 6 parking spaces;
- 3 non-residential premises with a total area exceeding 190 sq. m;
- BMW X3 car.
It should be reminded that the Head of the AMCU has already faced trial in the case concerning illegal enrichment and the submission of false date in asset declarations for 2020–2023.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered not-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
