AMCU head to stend trial for 2024 false asset declaration

NABU and SAPO have referred to court the case in which the incumbent head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine is accused of failing to declare assets, while his wife is charged with assisting in unlawful enrichment.

The investigation revealed, the top official failed to declare 20 real estate objects and a luxury car in his electronic declaration for 2024, which were registered to his wife's relatives.

These include:

  • 6 apartments in Kyiv and Uzhhorod;
  • a residential house near Kyiv with an area exceeding 220 sq. m and 2 land plots;
  • 2 garage boxes;
  • 6 parking spaces;
  • 3 non-residential premises with a total area exceeding 190 sq. m;
  • BMW X3 car. 

As reported, the AMCU head is already facing trial in the case concerning illegal enrichment and the submission of false data in asset declarations for 2020–2023.

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered not-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
