Ex-President's Office deputy head suspected of UAH 15.7 million illicit enrichment
NABU and SAPO have charged a former deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine (2019-2024) with illicit enrichment.
According to the investigation, in 2020-2022, the official acquired assets worth UAH 17.1 million, while his savings and official income during this period amounted to UAH 1.3 million.
Thus, the difference between the value of the acquired property and the official's funds totaled UAH 15.7 million.
The property in question is 2 cars (Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen), 2 motorcycles (Honda, BMW), three parking spaces in Kyiv, an apartment in Lviv, and a land plot in the Zakarpattia region.
To conceal the ownership of these assets, the official registered most of them with his brother, retaining the right to dispose of them in full. He registered the Honda motorcycle in a friend's name and later re-registered it with himself.
His actions fall under Part 5 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The crime was uncovered following an investigation by Ukrayinska Pravda journalists, as well as with the facilitation of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered not-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
