Vinnytsia District Court Head suspected of taking an improper advantage
On Sept. 17, 2021, NABU and SAPO notified the Head of the Vinnytsia District Court of suspicion of accepting an improper advantage. The Prosecutor General signed a notice of suspicion. The actions of the official fall under Part 3 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
As established, the judge asked for UAH 120 thousand in bribe. In exchange, he promised to make a decision on the recognition of the right to land.
NABU Detectives jointly with the National Police Department of Strategic Investigations in Vinnytsia Region under the procedural guidance of SAPO conducted searches, seized part of the bribe and more than USD 50 thousand.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered non-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
