MP caught on e-declaration misstatements
On Oct. 14, 2022, NABU and SAPO notified an incumbent MP of suspicion of concealing assets in her e-declaration worth more than UAH 4.4 million. Such actions fall under Part 1Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
As established, the lawmaker failed to specify in her 2020 declaration the information on the lease (ownership) of two apartments in Kyiv, a share in a non-residential building in Kharkiv, and a car. The total value of this property exceeds UAH 4.4 million.
The investigation was triggered by the results of an audit conducted by the National Agency for Corruption Prevention.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered non-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
