Attempted bribery of StateGeoCadastre Head: case sent to court

On Oct. 26, 2021, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) issued an indictment against the acting head of one of the territorial departments of the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre (StateGeoCadastre) and an intermediary. Their actions fall under Part 4 Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Both were exposed red-handed in December 2020 as they attempted to bribe the Head of the StateGeoCadastre with USD 25 thousand. They were notified of suspicion on the same day. According to the investigation, the first part of the illegal benefit in the amount of USD 26.9 thousand was given to the official in November 2020.

The total amount of illegal benefit was supposed to be USD 170 thousand and intended for the issuance of orders for the allocation of land plots to fictitious persons.

NABU started the investigation into the above facts in September 2020 at the request of StateGeoCadastre Head Roman Leschenko following the illegal offer.
