Attempted bribery of SIAUP head: suspicion notice served
On Feb. 2, 2022, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) served a suspicion notice to the person who attempted to bribe the head of the State Inspectorate for Architecture and Urban Planning of Ukraine (SIAUP). His actions fall under Part 4 Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (offer, promise, or provision of improper benefit to an official).
According to the investigation, the detainee offered the SIAUP head about USD 120,000 for the illegal issue of a certificate of commissioning of a high-rise building in Kyiv, despite existing violations.
The man was caught red-handed and detained under Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The court will soon decide on a preventive measure.
NABU Detectives launched a pre-trial investigation after SIAUP chairman reported the bribe offer in December 2021.
