NABU exposed a judge from Lviv region on a bribe

On January 24, 2020, the Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office (SAPO) exposed the Acting Head of one the District Courts of Lviv Region on receiving an improper advantage.

The investigation revealed that the judge demanded an improper advantage for decision-making on not bringing to administrative liability a person.

The NABU Detectives started a pre-trial investigation as of these facts in March 2019.

It should be noted that the NABU exposed this judge at the end of 2018. He had received funds in the amount of EUR 1,000 for not bringing a person to administrative liability for DUI. The investigation as of this fact completed and indictment sent to court.

 

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine a person is considered not-guilty in commission of crime and cannot be a subject to criminal punishment, until he or she is found guilty by the court.
