Deputy Minister was given a notice of suspicion
On August 29, 2019, the Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office (SAPO) gave a notice of suspicion to Deputy Minister of the Ukrainian government.
He is suspected of allegedly committing a crime under Article 366-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Submitting false data to e-declaration). The investigation revealed that the official did not submit data on using real estate in 2015-2016: a dwelling house with a total area of 556.4 sq. m and a land plot of 0.1607 ha.
The owner of this real estate is a close relative of the official. The total value of real estate at the date of acquisition is over 5 mln UAH.
The NABU Detectives have been conducting a pre-trial investigation since November 2017.
According to the Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine a person is considered not-guilty in commission of crime and cannot be a subject to criminal punishment, until he or she is found guilty by the court.
