Incitement to bribery: judge from Luhansk region exposed (PHOTOS)
NABU and SAPO, jointly with the SBU, have exposed a judge from the Luhansk region, seconded to a court in the Chernivtsi region, for incitement to commit a bribe.
As established, the suspect, who is currently a candidate for a judge position at the High Anti-Corruption Court, urged a lawyer to bribe a judge at the Solomyanskyi District Court of Kyiv with $30,000.
In return, the latter was expected to acquit a person accused of an office-related crime.
The judge’s actions fall under Part 4 of Article 27 and Part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigation is ongoing.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered not-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
