SBU officer exposed for receiving $68,000 bribe (PHOTOS)
NABU and SAPO have exposed and detained an officer of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the city of Kyiv and Kyiv region while receiving an unlawful benefit.
According to the investigation, the official received $68,000 from two citizens ($34,000 from each) for "resolving the issue" of removing them from the wanted list of the Territorial Centers of Recruitment and Social Support (TCRSS) and subsequently arranging a deferment from mobilization, as well as for ensuring they would not be held liable after obtaining a fictitious deferment.
The deferment was planned to be arranged based on knowingly false documents allegedly confirming that each of the citizens had three children. The fake birth certificates were supposed to be issued abroad.
Urgent investigative actions are currently ongoing.
Preliminary legal qualification: Part 4, Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered not-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
