Polygraph Combine case: Ukraine retrieves EUR 3.37 million thanks to NABU, SAPO
NABU and SAPO secured the reimbursement of EUR 3.37 million (equivalent to UAH 163.38 million) to the state budget by the French company SURYS, a party to the NABU and SAPO case concerning corruption at the state enterprise Polygraph Combine "Ukraina."
The French National Financial Prosecutor’s Office concluded a plea agreement with the company, which a court in Paris subsequently approved.
This is the first-ever compensation paid by a foreign entity in the history of Ukraine’s anti-corruption bodies.
Overall, within this case, accomplices have transferred funds to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and reimbursed the state for damages totaling more than UAH 180 million. According to the Ministry of Finance, most of these funds have already been used to support low-income families (over UAH 100 million) and to repair housing under the eRecovery (eVidnovlennia) program (over UAH 60 million).
The investigation was conducted by a joint team comprising NABU detectives, SAPO prosecutors, and representatives of law enforcement authorities of France and Estonia.
Cooperation with foreign counterparts was facilitated through the OECD GLEN platform. The effectiveness of this cooperation and the reimbursement of funds are noted, in particular, in a publication on the Organization’s official website.
The joint investigation team will continue its work to bring all those involved to justice and to ensure full compensation for the damage caused.
