Judge from Odesa notified of suspicion (PHOTOS)
NABU and SAPO have notified a judge of the Prymorskyi District Court of Odesa of suspicion of attempting to give an undue advantage to another judge of the same court for making a positive decision in an administrative offense case, as well as of embezzling a part of the undue advantage by fraud.
His actions fall under Part 3 Article 15, Part 3 Article 369, Part 2 Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
On June 19 this year, NABU and SAPO exposed a lawyer from Odesa receiving USD 2,000 from a serviceman. The amount was requested for "assistance" in securing a positive decision in an administrative offense case by a judge of the Primorskyi District Court of Odesa. To this end, he turned to an acquaintance who was a judge in the same court so that he agreed with a colleague on solving the issue for money.
NABU and SAPO, with operational support of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police, initiated the investigation into these facts at the request of the serviceman.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered not-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
