Retired judge suspected of bribery incetment

A retired judge has been served with a notice of suspicion for inciting an individual to give an unlawful benefit, as well as for attempting to organize the transfer of a bribe to another judge in exchange for a specific court decision.

According to the investigation, in December 2023, a judge of one of the local administrative courts (at the time the crime was committed) offered to help a businessman regain his foreign passports and tackle border-crossing issues. To do so, the judge advised the businessman to file a lawsuit with the local administrative court. He also promised facilitation if the businessman paid 10,000 of unnamed currency for the decision and an additional 5,000 to ensure it would be executed without delay.
