Suspect in land seizure case extradited from Germany
One of the members of an organized group that unlawfully seized land plots near Kyiv—over 1,200 hectares worth more than UAH 1.8 billion—has been extradited to Ukraine. The person in question is the former head of the Main Department of the State Geocadastre in Kyiv Region. Since March 5, 2024, the suspect had been on an international wanted list.
In March 2025, she was detained in the Federal Republic of Germany, and Ukraine’s extradition request was subsequently granted. The suspect was handed over to NABU officers at the international border crossing point “Krakivets-Korchova.”
The suspect was brought before the court, which ordered pre-trial detention with the alternative of posting bail set at UAH 10 million.
The extradition became possible thanks to the cooperation between NABU and SAPO with the competent authorities of Germany and the Republic of Poland, as well as effective coordination with the Office of the Prosecutor General as the central authority for extradition matters and the Ukrainian office of Interpol.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered not-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
