Misappropriation of UAH 100 million from Energoatom: defendant extradited from Germany (PHOTOS)

A member of an organized group that misappropriated almost UAH 100 million from SE “NNEGC Energoatom” has been extradited to Ukraine. The funds were allocated for the construction of the Centralized Spent Nuclear Fuel Storage Facility in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.

At the time, the defendant headed a private construction company. In collusion with Energoatom officials, he supplied radiation monitoring system equipment at prices inflated threefold. The group misappropriated the price difference.

In November 2023, detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau declared the accused wanted. Only in April 2025 was he detained with the assistance of German authorities.

The detainee was handed over to the National Bureau officers at the “Krakivets–Korczowa” international road border crossing point in the Lviv region.
