Misappropriation of UAH 7.7 million during the inspection of damaged objects in Kherson region: 3 suspects
NABU and SAPO have uncovered the embezzlement of state funds during the provision of services for technical inspection of objects damaged by russia's aggression in the Kherson region.
As established, the head of one of the departments of the Kherson Regional State Administration, in collusion with the owner and manager of a private company, organized an overestimation of the cost of technical inspection of 107 objects of social infrastructure (schools, hospitals, etc.) by more than 15 times. Thus, a contract was concluded for over UAH 9.9 million, while the actual cost of services was just UAH 534 thousand.
As a result, the participants in the scheme misappropriated funds from the reserve fund of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine worth over UAH 7.7 million.
Three persons have been notified of suspicion: the head of the department, the founder of the LLC, and its director. The official and the founder of the enterprise were detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Qualification: Part 5 Article 191, Part 1 Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered not-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
