Land corruption: ex-Zhytomyr StateGeoCadastre head faces charges
NABU, SAPO have notified the former acting head of the Main Directorate of the StateGeoCadastre in the Zhytomyr region of suspicion of abuse of office and causing multi-million losses to an agricultural enterprise.
As established, in 2021, the suspect, in violation of current legislation and numerous court decisions in favor of the agricultural enterprise, terminated its right to permanent use of land plots with a total area of nearly 5,000 hectares and canceled the registration of the relevant state acts.
Meanwhile, he attempted to transfer these land plots to another legal entity for permanent agricultural use.
As a result, the agricultural enterprise suffered damages of over UAH 54 million.
The suspect's actions fall under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered not-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
