All-Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Moot Court 4.0: A Competition for Future Legal Professionals

On December 5–7, 2024, Kyiv hosted the All-Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Moot Court 4.0 — a unique competition that brought together law students from across the country. A total of 127 teams participated in the tournament, testing their knowledge and practical skills in combating corruption.

The event featured three stages: conducting a search, questioning during a court hearing, and legal debates. The top 10 teams advanced to the offline stage of the competition, where the winning title was claimed by the team “Girl's Clan,” a group of students representing Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

Beyond the competition, participants attended practical training sessions led by NABU detectives and engaged with representatives of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC), legal practitioners, anti-corruption experts, and scholars from the Institute of Law of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

The moot court served as a vital step in preparing young professionals to contribute to the fight against corruption. Symbolically, the event was held just days before International Anti-Corruption Day, observed annually on December 9. Combating corruption is not just a challenge — it is our shared goal.

The All-Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Moot Court was organized by NABU, SAPO, HACC, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, with the support of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI), the leading anti-corruption program in Ukraine, financed by the EU, co-financed and implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
