NABU Anti-Corruption school 2024: charging for anti-corruption
25 law students from different regions of Ukraine deepened their knowledge in the field of preventing and countering corruption. This became possible thanks to participation in the NABU Anti-Corruption School, the first stage of which was completed in Kyiv.
"Working at NABU is a challenge, but it is a unique opportunity for those who seek change. Corruption not only creates injustice, it steals our country's future. We are open to those who are ready to join this important cause," said Semen Kryvonos, Director of the National Bureau, to the participants of the Anti-Corruption School.
Students participated in trainings, learned how top corruption cases are investigated, and got to know Ukrainian and international experts. Familiarization visits to anti-corruption bodies, where future lawyers could see the real work of the system from the inside, became an important element of training.
"This is a difficult time for Ukraine and Ukrainian youth. After all, you are the hope for a better future for Ukrainians. I hope you will be inspired to work in the field of anti-corruption, because we need you," said the Head of the EUACI, Allan Pagh Kristensen, in his welcoming speech to the students.
Based on the results of practical tasks, 10 participants were given the opportunity to complete a one-week internship at NABU. During the second practical phase, they will be able to gain experience working with detectives of the National Bureau, form a team of like-minded people and exchange new ideas.
The project was implemented with the support of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) – the leading anti-corruption support program in Ukraine funded by the EU, co-funded and implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
