Anti-Corruption Webinar for Students: NABU's Experience

A senior detective of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), Volodymyr Vasylchuk, conducted a webinar titled "Investigative Thinking as the Basis for Effective High-Level Corruption Investigations" for law students of the Ostroh branch of the Students League of the Ukrainian Bar Association. The event was a significant step in expanding future legal professionals' understanding of the specifics of NABU detectives' work and the principles underlying effective corruption investigations.

During the webinar, the discussion focused on the nuances of investigating complex corruption schemes, new approaches to gathering, processing, and evaluating evidence. Volodymyr Vasylchuk emphasized the importance of thorough planning of investigative actions to gather comprehensive information, which is crucial for holding perpetrators of corruption accountable.

A substantial part of the meeting was dedicated to providing recommendations for students that could prove useful in their future legal practice. Such events not only offer students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and practical skills but also serve as a platform for actively discussing anti-corruption issues and the importance of every citizen’s involvement in this process. NABU webinars contribute to educating a new generation of legal professionals who are ready to engage in anti-corruption activities, a critical component in building a lawful state.
